The funeral cortege was two miles long. 10,000 people turned out for the funeral. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 30 June 1934 - Emperor Norton-1 reburied in Woodlawn Cemetery by citizens of San Francisco. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 7 January 1980 - The city marked the 100th anniversary of the death of its only monarch, Emperor Norton, with lunch-hour ceremonies at Market and Montgomery streets. |
